BENEATH THE SURFACE OF MOTHERHOOD

Let’s be honest. A mother can rejoice over her child yet not see life through rose-tinted lenses. Mothers are allowed to feel unhappy.

One can never fully comprehend – nor anticipate – the colossal amount of physical and hormonal changes, as well as the emotional torments, brought out by the arrival of a baby. The bond with the child can be strong but the self-identity can be lost.

FARMACY: GEM DISCOVERY OR EPHEMERAL FAD?

I was on the lookout for inventive and vibrant seasonal recipes that would both feel healthy and comforting in preparation for the cold months to come. Though occasionally indulging in a rare rib eye steak with chips and mayonnaise – I am Belgian after all – I was curious to try plant-based cuisine, assuming it would offer rich and punchy flavours and be as fulfilling as flesh.
